Beyond Pearls is a dance, theatre, and circus company based in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Founded as Angie Pearl Productions in New York City in 2002, the company has produced work in Boulder, San Francisco, New York City, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, and Paris — merging dance, juggling, text, and other art forms from the start.
Mission
To inspire, engage, and move audiences by connecting them to the creative truths in their own hearts. Beyond Pearls is committed to sharing the joy of dance, juggling, and theatre with audiences of all ages and backgrounds — and dreams of a world where juggling is taught in every school. Guided by Pina Bausch's words, "It is not so much how you move, but what moves you," the company strives for artistic purity and genuine collaboration across disciplines.
COMMUNITY
Circus Jams have run since 2004 — open sessions where anyone can show up, move, play, and learn. No audition, no prerequisites. Our beach shows are by donation. Our standards are not. We work with former New York City Ballet dancers, former LA Opera performers, and world-ranked jugglers including Jack Kalvan. This year we're piloting a Summer Camp for kids 7 and up, investing in physical literacy early.
JENNIFER DINOIA-ARTISTIC DIRECTOR
Jennifer Dinoia is the founder of Beyond Pearls and a creator, performer, and producer of multi-disciplinary work. A San Francisco native, she holds a B.A. in Theatre from UC Berkeley and a Masters from La Sorbonne. She has performed professionally across the Bay Area, New York City, Boulder, Paris, and Europe — including at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival.
Major productions include the Equilibrium trilogy, Flight, Sunset, Sunset Awakened, Gravity, and the 2025 Hollywood season featuring Solar System and Mermaid Escape. Her work consistently honors the natural world and brings together exceptional collaborators — among them dancer David Prottas, clown Joe Pisanzio, and juggler Jack Kalvan.
