Overview: Beyond Pearls is a not for profit dance (mainly modern and ballet),

theatre, circus arts company dedicated to presenting free, site specific performances in parks, beaches, and other public venues across Santa Monica, Los Angeles, San Francisco and beyond...In addition, we produce our annual indoor season in beautiful theaters which allows for more potential innovating and expressing object manipulation art forms and added design elements. Our unique approach removes financial barriers to arts participation, bringing professional dance, theatre and circus directly to diverse audiences. Our annual FREE SUMMER CIRCUS JAMS educates through play and helps bring more joy, inclusion and love in a divided and stressed climate in America.

 

History: Beyond Pearls is a dance, theatre, and circus performing arts company based in Los Angeles. Beyond Pearls was established as Angie Pearl Productions in 2002 in New York City. Since its inception the company merges dance, juggling, text and other art forms. The company has produced work in Boulder, San Francisco, New York City, Santa Monica, Los Angeles and Paris.

Mission Statement: To inspire, engage and move audiences' and the community's spirits so they may connect to the creative truths that live in their hearts fostering a deeper connection to art and movement for all. Above all, it is the company’s goal to share the joy of dance, juggling and theatre with audiences of all ages, and socio-economic levels. As a creator, producer, and performer it is Jennifer’s goal to continue to collaborate with other multi disciplinary artists and to produce exciting work that explores the potential in each art form and to bring awe, beauty, laughter and truth to each performance. We dream to have juggling taught in schools so all children learn this fun skill.

ARTISTIC DIRECTOR 
JENNIFER DINOIA
BIO:

Jennifer Dinoia, is a creator, performer, and producer of multi-disciplinary work. Jennifer grew up in San Francisco and is the Founder and Artistic Director of Beyond Pearls.

Jennifer is a dancer, juggler, choreographer, and designer. Her first introduction to ballet was on a school field trip to the San Francisco Opera house. Her first introduction to juggling was a passing troupe that mesmerized her as she watched with her sister at Pier 39 in San Francisco.

She has worked professionally as an actor throughout the Bay Area, Paris, New York City, Boulder and in her early years, street performed across Europe including at the Edinburgh Fringe Theatre Festival. 

In 2003, she founded Angie Pearl Productions, a dance, theatre and circus company in New York City. During this time she produced and performed in Equilibrium, Feathers From the Lower World and Melograno. She also produced, created and performed  in Equilibrium Squared in Boulder. After moving back to her home town of San Francisco she produced smaller pieces at several locations including Levy Dance, Studio 200 and the Center. In 2016 she produced another full-length dance, theatre, circus production in San Francisco titled Equilibrium Cubed.

In Santa Monica at NAAM LA Jennifer choreographed a piece to the song Shallow by Lady Gaga.

During the pandemic, Jennifer produced three short videos that merged modern dance and juggling. 

In 2021 Jennifer, created, performed, and  produced Flight, a solo outdoor piece, which was inspired by the magnificence of the Pacific Ocean. In 2022, Jennifer also produced, created, and performed Sunset, a duet with Andrea De Leon and Sunset Awakened which included the performances by the world class trained clown Joe Pisanzio, dancer Katrina Lucey and former New York City Ballet dancer David Prottas. These works were created to celebrate and honor the world’s oceans, and wildlife.  She has continued each season to produce works outdoors free to the public. In 2024, Beyond Pearls produced Gravity at LA Jugglers in Valley Glenn. In 2025 our home season was at a small theatre in Hollywood with Solar System: the show and a dance premiere Mermaid Escape with a 

score by Dave De Vita staged on Violet Mostes. 

Jennifer holds a B.A. in theatre from U.C. Berkeley as well as a D.E.U.G. from La Sorbonne.
